Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Retriever (“we”) collects, why, and what we do with it. We wrote it to be read.

What we collect

Quiz answers — the yes/no answers you give about products, services, and companies you’ve used. We use them only to match you to settlements. Account details — email and mobile number at signup; legal name and mailing address when you prepare a claim, because claim forms require them. Claim records — which settlements you’ve prepared or filed, and their status. Usage data — pages viewed and actions taken, to understand how the service is used.

What we don’t do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your quiz answers or claim details with advertisers. We do not share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.

Text messages (SMS)

When you provide your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we send: one-time verification codes when you sign up or sign in; deadline reminders for settlements you’ve matched or filed; and status updates on claims you’ve filed. Message frequency varies with your activity — typically a few messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out and HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How long we keep it

Account and claim records are kept while your account is active and for as long as a filed claim can still pay out, which can be years. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; we will delete what the law and open claims allow.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to people and systems that need it to operate the service.

Your choices

You can view and correct your details in your account, opt out of texts by replying STOP, and request deletion by emailing us. If you are a California resident you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know and the right to delete; email us to exercise them.
